King's
Manor is a school with a long and proud tradition in the local area. We have
moved forward from our early days as a boy's grammar school to become one of
the largest comprehensive secondary schools in Middlesbrough, a growth that
reflects our continuing popularity with pupils and parents. This was reflected
in our 2008 OFSTED report, which described parents' views of the school as
"overwhelmingly positive". This is a
viewpoint we take very seriously as we recognise that our first role in the
community is to meet the needs of our pupils and the expectations of our
parents. Though with
a long history, Kings Manor is a very forward-looking school, always looking to
try out new ideas and move the school forward for the benefit of our pupils.
Our facilities are excellent and well used by both pupils and members of the community. As a Specialist Sports College, facilities for PE and sport are excellent, including flood lit tennis courts, all weather pitches, swimming pool and most recently installed, this year is a state of the art fitness suite designed to maximise enjoyment whilst enhancing the fitness and health of our school community. Our ICT network is the most extensive in the local area, with all classrooms connected to the Internet, nine computer suites across the school and a large number of "wireless" laptop networks which are well used by students and available throughout the school day and beyond.
Above all, we have a first class staff team, committed to providing the best possible support for your children whatever their needs, interests and aptitudes. Meeting the needs of every pupil, in a supportive, well disciplined and stimulating learning environment is our core objective and we are proud of our record of success in achieving this. In the words of OFSTED "This is a very caring school where the needs of the individual are paramount". You can be confident that this will continue to be our priority. I hope that you enjoy your visit to the web site. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Morgan Wallace Head Teacher
